PITCH

PITCH (Program for Investigation and Training for Careers in Health)

Each summer, UCSF's Center for Educational Partnerships sponsors a free summer program for high school students in San Francisco School Unified School District.  To watch an informational video about PITCH, click here. Click here for the PITCH 2011 Informational Brochure.

This year, PITCH will be held July 9 through July 27, 2012. The application will be available here for download as a PDF file on March 1. Applications will be accepted throughout the month of March; the application period will close on April 1.

PITCH is an opportunity for incoming high school juniors, particularly those who may be the first in their families to pursue a four-year college degree, to spend three weeks at UCSF, exploring careers in health and medicine, looking into the educational pathways that lead to different careers, and learning some skills that will help them along their way.

PITCH students are mentored by current UCSF students in dental school, pharmacy school, medical school and nursing school as they complete a group research project and receive one-on-one and small group academic advising from CEP counselors.
